Jonathan Swanson looks to return to action with the United Racing Company this coming weekend at the Delaware International Speedway. Swanson, who had a solid top 10 run in the URC opener at Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, April 9th, has been off since then. Swanson and company were supposed to race Saturday, April 16th, at Delaware International but that event fell to mother nature as many of the weekly racing events so far this year have. Swanson will look to build on his opening night success, and Delaware International Speedway has been a place for success for Swanson.
The 2nd generation driver from Yardville, NJ, started the 2011 season with a solid 6th place finish Saturday night at the Bridgeport Speedway. Swanson, who drew the pole position for the first heat race, would lead the heat to the first green flag of the season. Swanson would finish in the same position which guaranteed him the pole position for the night’s feature event. Swanson went on to lead the 24 car starting field to green. The 17j continued to lead the first 8 laps of the feature event, finally crossing the finish line with a solid 6th place finish. Not bad for the first night out of the new season. (more…)
